Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Manan And Where Is It Located?

Manan is a founder-led aged care home and dedicated physiotherapy rehabilitation clinic in Chapali, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu.

Who Runs Manan Day To Day?

Our founders, who are at the centre every day, lead a team of physiotherapists, geriatric-trained nurses and caregivers.

Is Staff Available At Night?

Yes. Specially trained staff are on duty 24 hours a day, every day, including nights and festivals.

We Live Abroad. How Will We Know Our Parent Is Well?

You receive regular WhatsApp updates and photos, video calls with your parent, and an immediate call if anything changes.

What Happens In A Medical Emergency?

We arrange quick transfer to a nearby hospital such as Neuro Hospital, Gangalal, Grande or Teaching Hospital, and inform the family at once.

Which Languages Does The Team Speak?

Nepali and English. We talk with families abroad in whichever is easiest for them.

How Much Does Care At Manan Cost?

Every person needs different care, so we do not use fixed packages. After understanding your loved one's needs we explain a personal plan. Please WhatsApp us.

Can My Parent Come Straight From Hospital?

Usually yes. Send the discharge summary on WhatsApp before discharge and we prepare nursing care, equipment and transfer.

Can We Visit Before Deciding?

Please do. Meet the founders and team, see the rooms and ask every question. Families abroad can take a video tour.

Can My Parent Stay For A Short Time Only?

Yes. Short stays after hospital, while the family travels, or to rest a family caregiver are common. Day care is also available.

What Should We Bring On Admission?

Medical reports, current medicines, comfortable clothes, non-slip slippers, glasses or hearing aids, and a few personal photos.

What Food Do Residents Eat?

Nutritious, chef-prepared Nepali home-style meals, with diabetic, low salt or soft food diets when needed.

What Is The Difference Between Inpatient, Outpatient And Home Visits?

Inpatient means staying at Manan with daily therapy and 24-hour care. Outpatient means clinic sessions. Home visits bring the physiotherapist to you.

How Soon After A Stroke Should Physiotherapy Start?

As soon as the doctor says it is safe, often within days. Early, gentle movement prevents stiffness and helps the brain relearn.

Which Areas Do You Cover For Home Visits?

Budhanilkantha, Golfutar, Maharajgunj, Bansbari, Dhapasi, Tokha, Kapan, Bouddha, Chabahil, Baluwatar, Lazimpat, and Lalitpur and Bhaktapur by schedule.

Do I Need A Doctor's Referral?

No. You can come directly. If an X-ray, MRI or specialist opinion is needed, we will tell you and help arrange it.

Will I Need Surgery For A Slipped Disc?

Most people with a disc prolapse improve without surgery through physiotherapy and time. We will tell you honestly if you should see a surgeon.

What Should I Wear To A Session?

Loose, comfortable clothes that let you move freely. Shorts or a loose top help when we treat knees, shoulders or the back.
